About Me

I graduated from UCLA with a BS in Psychology in 1992. I then worked with the Public Health Department of San Francisco as a Program Director to educate teens about the dangers of smoking cigarettes and how to eliminate tobacco advertising in their neighborhoods to promote a healthier environment.

I graduated form the Five Branches University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2002 as an Acupuncturist, Herbalist and Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Over the years I’ve developed my knowledge and become an expert in nutrition, vitamins and minerals, herbal medicine, detoxification and lifestyle practices. I’ve found a way to synthesize all that knowledge into a simple approach that gives me a variety of tools to work with my specialties of: Pain Management, Hormone Balancing, Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Nutrition Counseling, Immune Strengthening and Digestive Harmonizing.
In 2010, after a one year program, I became an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor. Ayurveda gives me another layer of insight and additional tools to work with each individual patient to give the most thorough and unique path to wellness. Ayurveda shines by focusing on body types or “Doshas” and then customizes food, spices, body treatments and lifestyle practices to balance that unique individual.

Aroma Acupoint Therapy is an additional skill that I use frequently in the clinic as an adjunct to acupuncture. I’ve received many hours of training in essential oils and when I became certified in this modality I felt like I found the paints to my paintbrush! The use of specific essential oils placed on targeted acupuncture points is a subtle yet powerful treatment modality that I use frequently with children and those who are sensitive to needles. Whether I’m using the oils alone or adding them to an acupuncture treatment, the results are profound.

What I Love

♥ Going on international adventures with my family! We lived in Colombia, South America with our daughter and explored the Amazon, the many layers of the Andes mountains, the raw and vibrant coastline and the bustling Colombian cities rich with culture.

♥ Longboard surfing with my daughter! We love being in the ocean, seeing the wildlife and socializing with fellow surfing buddies. Surfing in Mexico and Hawaii in the warm ocean is even better! No wetsuit! Long walks or runs on the beach and hikes in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Travel, Travel, Travel! Meeting people from different cultures keeps everything in perspective, feeds my soul and inspires me to think outside the box.
